Today Norwegian black metallers THOKKIAN VORTEX release their new opus “Thy Throne is Mine” via Non Serviam Records.
To celebrate the event the band fronted by Lord Kaiaphas, the former vocalist of Norwegian black metal act, ANCIENT, unveils the new single “Winter Forest Cry”.
“The new single, ‘Winter Forest Cry’ is a bit more experimental and different from the rest of the songs from the album. I wanted to make a slow-paced and melancholic track based around a piano riff with a more modern and blackgaze type of atmosphere. Cold, yet emotional. It features spoken vocals with distortion as well as traditional Black metal vocals. The lyrics tell a story of a majestic forest in the north during wintertime, but they are open to the listener’s interpretation”, explains Lord Kaiaphas.

Musically, THOKKIAN VORTEX is Nordic style black metal as it was played in the 90’s by bands such as MAYHEM, EMPEROR, DARK FUNERAL, LIMBONIC ART, SATYRICON, etc.
Besides Lord Kaiaphas, the band features also guitarist Sabnock, bassist Sil, and drummer Asmodevs Draco Dvx (AZRATH 11, NAER MATARON, KURGAALL, ANCIENT, MELECHESH, etc.) in the ranks.
