With high anticipation building for the upcoming 11PARANOIAS rite Asterismal, due for release this March 15th, Ritual Productions are excited to unveil new aural and visual offerings from the psych-doom-noise experimentalists!
The trailer, by Joe Shearsby, entrances you into 11PARANOIAS’ distorted depths of darkened psychedelic phantasmagoria. New music featured from the rite includes the ominously thunderous ‘Vitrified Galaxy’, melancholic mirage ‘Slow Moon’ and the paralytic lullaby ‘Chamber of Stars’. We are also extremely delighted to reveal the stunning artwork for Asterismal, which comes courtesy of contemporary British artist Toby Ziegler. Check out the artwork below and read on for Toby’s inspiration behind this visual enchantment…
“The cover makes reference to a pair of vanitas paintings by Georges de La Tour – ‘The Magdalen with the Smoking Flame’ and ‘The Flea Catcher’ – where the skulls and flames consider the transience of life and the certainty of death. They were painted at different times but I’ve juxtaposed them. My work is always figurative and abstract simultaneously; here, the flowering pentagram pattern weaves and flickers in and out of the representational images in a tug of war between the layers.”
As such, those who have held onto their Multi-Dimensional Paranoid Vision (MPV) keys – which come with the band’s 2016 rite, Reliquary For A Dreamed Of World – shall be rewarded in the visual realm: “The MPV keys function with Asterismal to obfuscate or intensify the layers. My work has always been informed by music and in the last few years that relationship has become more explicit. It makes a lot of sense to try to find images that are somehow analogous for sound.”
The 11PARANOIAS X Toby Ziegler collaboration has been a long time coming, with Toby mentioning: “I have known 11PARANOIAS bassist/vocalist Adam Richardson for years and we share a lot of similar cultural reference points. It seemed a great time for us to work together at long last… so when we did the artwork it happened really quickly and fluidly, and we are all very happy with the results.”
Asterismal is undoubtedly 11PARANOIAS’ most exciting yet challenging release to date, coalescing experimental noise elements with pure psychedelia and a devastating deluge of doom and drone. The rite channels unprecedented extra-terrestrial terrain for the band, opening thresholds of esoteric mysticism, immersive euphoria and alluring darkness, subsequently conjuring an overwhelmingly intense rapture for the subconscious and its dormant senses. In turn, Asterismal sees 11PARANOIAS at their most propulsive, potent and powerful!

Asterismal was recorded and mixed by Wayne Adams at Bear Bites Horse Studio, London in September 2017 and May 2018, respectively. Additional recording and mastering undertaken by Dan Miller and Adam Richardson at XL Recordings Studio, London during July 2018.
Asterismal will see release on LP, CD and digital download on March 15th, 2019. Further information, including details of limited-edition packages, shall be revealed soon.
